A leading expert in interventional oncology and radiology, Prof. Geschwind will join New Phase in FDA discussions and support preparations for feasibility studies

US-based Prof. Geschwind is a distinguished oncologist and global leader in image-guided therapy. He is currently the medical director for oncology, image-guided therapy, and the Imaging Core Lab at NAMSA, one of the largest contract research organizations in the U.S. He also serves as a medical advisor for HistoSonics, a company developing non-invasive, high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU)–based, image-guided therapies for liver cancer. In addition, Prof. Geschwind is a scientific consultant to Philips Healthcare, where he advises on innovations in oncology and image-guided therapy.

Previously, Prof. Geschwind served as the chairman of radiology and biomedical imaging and radiologist‑in‑chief at Yale New Haven Hospital, as well as a professor of radiology and medicine (oncology), where he helped advance clinical practice, research and multidisciplinary cancer care.

Widely regarded as a pioneer and one of the founders of interventional oncology, he has published nearly 300 scientific papers and has received numerous national and international awards recognizing his scientific and clinical contributions.
